Whether the goal is to get rid of your health problem, lessen your pain, find an alternative to pharmaceuticals, resolve chronic disease, or improve your quality of life, our functional approach will get you results quickly and effectively!

Chiropractic focuses on disorders of the muscular, skeletal and nervous systems and their effect on your health. Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-surgical, hands-on approach to healthcare used to treat complaints like neck and back pain, arm or leg pain, headaches, and other conditions. Doctors of Chiropractic are trained in diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitative exercises, nutritional/dietary and lifestyle counseling. The primary treatment is Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy, also called an Adjustment or Spinal Manipulation.

manipualtion

The adjustment, or spinal manipulation, is a manual procedure whereby the doctor typically uses his/her hands to manipulate the joints of the body, particularly the spine, in order to reduce pain, restore or enhance joint function, and improve neurological function. Chiropractic manipulation is a highly controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. The doctor adapts the procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often note positive changes in their symptoms immediately following treatment.

Is it possible to prevent, reverse and eliminate diabetes, heart disease, obesity, auto-immune disease, fatigue, hormone-related issues, osteoporosis, and the many other chronic diseases we all suffer from?

According to the 2008 Chronic-Disease Almanac, chronic disease affects half of our population, costing 1.6 trillion dollars a year. According to Dr. Richard Carmona, 17th Surgeon General of the United States, “seventy-five cents of every healthcare dollar we spend is on treatment of chronic disease, most of which is preventable.” He also goes on to state that “If we do not reverse this trend, chronic disease will continue to devastate Americans’ health, lead to millions more preventable deaths, and will ultimately bankrupt our healthcare system.”

A therapeutic lifestyle is based on the premise than many of the chronic conditions associated with aging—hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoarthritis, as well as several forms of cancer—are not inevitable outcomes of the aging process. In addition, things that many people view as signs of aging—such as low energy, poor memory, low libido, chronic pain, and weight gain—are not signs of aging at all. They are signs of illness.

A balance disorder is a disturbance that causes an individual to feel unsteady, giddy, woozy, or have a sensation of movement, spinning, or floating. The terms dizziness and vertigo have been used to describe a balance disorder; they need to be defined for better understanding.

The word dizziness is used to describe many different sensations, depending on the person experiencing it, and the exact type of dizziness symptom is very important to determine. True dizziness is a lightheaded feeling or a sensation that you are about to faint. People also describe dizziness as though they are about to fall; they have difficulty staying balanced, or they actually fall. Some individuals also say 'dizziness' when they mean 'weakness.'

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the oldest therapies of Traditional Chinese Medicine, originating in China more than 2,000 years ago. Acupuncture is a procedure that involves stimulation of anatomical points on the body by penetrating the skin with hair-thin, solid, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation. People experience acupuncture differently, some people are energized by treatment, while others feel relaxed.

What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder?

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurobehavioral condition characterized by hyperactivity, inattention, distraction, and impulsivity. It is usually first identified when children are school-aged, although it also can be diagnosed in people of all age groups.

Most children have high energy levels and short attention spans; this does not mean they have ADHD. True ADHD is characterized by excessive hyperactivity, poor attention, and impulsivity, as well as problems that interfere with daily activity. Some children with ADHD have problems with attention; others have issues with hyperactvity and impulsivity; and yet others have both. The real issue with ADHD is that it can interfere with a child's ability to perform in school and to develop healthy relationships with others. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-IV-TR), three to seven percent of school-aged children are said to have ADHD.

What is Bioimpedance Analysis?

Bio-impedance analysis (BIA) is a valuable tool for measuring your body composition—the measurement of body fat in relation to lean body mass. It is an important part of any comprehensive health and nutrition assessment.

Why is body composition important to your health?

A normal balance of body fat to lean body mass (muscle) is associated with good health and longevity. Excess fat in relation to lean body mass, a condition known as altered body composition, can greatly increase your risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, certain cancers, and more. BIA enables early detection of an improper balance in your body composition, which allows for earlier intervention and prevention. BIA also provides the measurement of fluid (water) and body mass that can be a critical assessment tool for your current state of health.

BIA serves to measure your progress as you work to improve your health. Improving your BIA measurement, or maintaining a healthy BIA measurement, can help keep your body functioning properly for healthy ageing and reduced risk of illness. With your BIA results, we can recommend a personalized dietary plan, nutritional supplements, and exercise to help support optimal health and well-being for a lifetime.

It is imperative to uncover any biochemical abnormalities that may cause or contribute to your health problems. We use a state-of-the-art, non-invasive diagnostic testing method that measures factors of the body’s internal and biochemical environment through urine and saliva.
We utilize an innovative, in-office diagnostic instrument that gives a complete picture of your health never before seen until now. It’s the only instrument of its kind—no other device can provide so much information so quickly, and so simply. Through quantitative fluid analysis, the technology provides a comprehensive look at numerous elements that affect how the body functions.

This includes three key health indicators—pH level, antioxidant level, and electrical conductivity—all with the touch of a button. This information can then be used to recommend the precise nutrition and lifestyle changes required to restore the body to vitality.

Neurotransmitters are various chemicals required by the nervous system to relay signals between neurons (nerve cells), thus allowing for optimal communication between the multitude of cells within the brain itself and the entire nervous system as a whole. This is an extremely complex process requiring an adequate supply of these specialized chemicals (neurotransmitters) and their respective bio-chemical building blocks (precursors) to function properly.

Neurotransmitters are constructed in the body from amino acids (the building blocks of proteins), vitamins, and mineral co-factors. When sufficient supplies of these amino acids and nutritional co-factors are lacking, neurotransmitter depletion—leading to insufficient or unbalanced communication between neurons (neurotransmission) with adverse systemic results—can be expected.

Measuring Hormone Levels in Men and Women

Hormone testing through saliva and blood spot (capillary blood) provides you with many of the answers that you have been looking for. In the privacy of your own home, you can accurately test important and vital hormone levels and see how those levels correspond to your current symptoms. These levels can then be used to determine a therapy that would work best for you. The testing also comes with an explanation which allows you to better understand exactly where you stand. You are now able to affordably take charge of your health.

ZRT laboratory saliva and blood-spot testing helps uncover the reasons for the disruptive symptoms and chronic health problems that may have kept you from a life you love. The hormones tested are based upon profiles or panels created by experts to provide the most consistent and complete look at hormone levels. When hormones are unbalanced, they are often the source of undesirable symptoms found during menses, peri-menopause, menopause, andropause (male menopause), and similar conditions. The quick and easy hormone testing for men and women offered by the DCIM provides reliable results, as well as a solid foundation on which to start bio-identical hormone therapy paired with customized nutrition supplementation, fitness programs, and personalized lifestyle modifications.

Sometimes we cannot avoid all the harmful chemicals our bodies are exposed to daily. There are roughly 82,000 chemicals in our water, food, air, and cosmetics. The liver—the main organ that filters toxins from the body—cannot remove all these impurities. We take in these toxins and store them in certain parts of the body, including fat.

The body handles toxins by either neutralizing, transforming, or eliminating them. Sometimes the body's built-in detoxification systems, such as lungs, throat, nose, gastrointestinal tract, bladder, skin, and lymphatic systems, need additional support.

Detoxification, in general, is the removal of toxic substances from the body. A toxin is basically any substance that creates irritating and/or harmful effects in the body, undermines our health, or stresses biochemical or organ functions. Toxins can come from by-products of normal cell metabolism, like free radicals, or from the outside environment—pollution, drugs, pesticides, dyes, colorings, microbes, heavy metals, tobacco smoke, alcohol, etc.

Research suggests that massage is beneficial in many ways. According to the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), therapeutic massage has been found to create peace of mind, physical relaxation, and to relieve mental stress and reduce anxiety.

Massage has been proven to reduce the pain and swelling caused by strained muscles and sprained ligaments. It can stimulate weak and inactive muscles resulting in a faster, more complete recovery from an illness or injury in which inactivity causes muscle deterioration.

Massage improves blood circulation and lymph fluid movement. It decreases blood pressure and strengthens the immune system. People who receive regular massages have greater joint flexibility and range of motion. Massage enhances athletic performance, promotes deeper and easier breathing, enhances the health and nourishment of the skin, and improves posture. It can assist in the elimination of waste products, and enhance recovery after disease. Therapeutic massage can be used to promote general well-being and enhance self-esteem, while boosting the circulatory and immune systems to benefit blood pressure, circulation, muscle tone, digestion, range of motion, skin tone, and much more.

What are Orthotics?

Orthotics are customized insoles worn in the shoe and intended to correct abnormal or irregular walking patterns. If a person’s foot is not functioning correctly, the bones and ligaments experience micro-trauma that can lead to all kinds of foot deformities and pain. Additionally, if the foot is not functioning correctly, the ankles, legs, knees, hips, and lower back are not aligned correctly, and problems can develop throughout the entire body, including lower back pain. Orthotics perform functions that make standing, walking, and running more comfortable and efficient by slightly altering the angles at which the foot strikes a walking or running surface.

What is the Footmaxx System?
The Footmaxx System is a computer connected to a force plate (electronic mat) that uses special software to analyze the way a patient walks. The system is available for use exclusively by licensed practitioners. Patients simply walk back and forth across the force plate and the computer scans their foot and step.

There comes a time in everyone's life when advancing age becomes a concern. The most inevitable sign of aging is the appearance of the skin. In fact, the first visible sign of aging is a wrinkle. Generally, wrinkles are experienced in your 30s or, if you are lucky, in your 40s. You can postpone the aging of your skin by using appropriate treatments at an early age. This is the time when you search for an anti-aging procedure or formula.
