Supplement of Month
Vitamin C has always been claimed to be an essential nutrient for overall health and well-being. Humans are not able to produce this vitamin themselves, and it is therefore recommended that we take a supplement, or eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily, to ensure the correct dosage. Recent research conducted by the Linus Pauling Institute has discovered breakthrough evidence that Vitamin C has a positive effect in the prevention of heart disease and cancer.
Research has linked an adequate intake of Vitamin C with powerful health benefits: brain function and mood; creation of collagen and neurotransmitters; reduction in cholesterol and gallstones; conversion of fat to energy; and lowering the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer. Vitamin C has been widely acclaimed as an antioxidant and protector of cells from oxidative damage.
Revered as an immune-booster, Vitamin C also aids in wound healing and is an antioxidant that protects against free-radical damage to the body. Vitamin C is also needed to build collagen, the substance that attaches the skeleton together, linking bones to muscles and keeping organs in place. Collagen is also responsible for keeping the skin smooth and wrinkle-free. Vitamin C helps with the absorption of other nutrients, notably calcium and iron.
Linus Pauling, founder of the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University, has dedicated his research to Vitamin C and its related health benefits. He began this research in 1966 and was the first to identify this vitamin as a cure for the common cold.
Pauling has made recommendations that humans need a minimum of 10-12 grams of Vitamin C per day, although the current recommended daily allowance is listed as only 90mg for adults. Pauling also states that in order to improve and prevent chronic diseases, such as heart disease and cancer, a higher level is necessary.
Vitamin C Experts Now Reveal
Lypo-SphericTM Vitamin C proven many times more powerful than all other oral forms of Vitamin C
Recent clinical trials by world-renowned Vitamin C expert and pharmacologist, Steve Hickey, PhD, show that Lypo-SphericTM Vitamin C is able to produce serum levels of Vitamin C, nearly double those thought theoretically possible with any oral form of Vitamin C.*
Here's how it works...
Just like a "smart" bomb, which can guide and deliver ordnance from a plane several miles away to a particular building and through a chosen opening right to the desired target, "Smart" Liposomal Nano-SpheresTM protect and deliver a powerful load of Vitamin C straight to the parts of your body that need it most.
As you'll soon see, Liposomal Encapsulation Technology is the most elegant and efficient oral delivery system ever developed to date.
Liposomal Encapsulation Technology makes use of a natural, little-known phenomenon that makes life, as we know it, possible. This phenomenon is the natural tendency of phospholipids to form tiny vacuoles or "bubbles" - called liposomes - when in an aqueous solution under certain conditions. The liposomes are automatically filled with whatever aqueous solution they were in before they formed. This same type of bubble, called a membrane, forms a protective barrier around virtually every cell in your body. We have harnessed this phenomenon to create sub-microscopic liposomes that are filled to the brim with liquid Vitamin C.
LivOn Labs adds a mixture of "essential phospholipids" - predominately phosphatidylcholine - to pharmaceutical-quality ascorbic acid. Then this mixture is forced through a patented nozzle jet at over 1700 p.s.i. (pounds per square inch) of pressure against a special forming plate. The high impact forces the phospholipids to form liposomes that are so small they can be viewed only through an electron microscope.
The liposomes used in Lypo-SphericTM Vitamin C are about 300 to 400 nanometers in diameter (a nanometer is one-billionth of a meter) and are particularly suited to move quickly and efficiently to their target before releasing their contents.
"Smart" Liposomal Nano-SpheresTM: The perfect Vitamin C protection and delivery system
These Vitamin C-filled liposomes, because of their size and composition, provide the perfect transport system. They...
- disperse in water or beverage;
- quickly navigate through the digestive system;
- require no digestive activity prior to assimilation;
- rapidly absorb in the small intestine and are transported intact throughout the bloodstream to the cells that need them;
- release the powerful, non-degraded Vitamin C for use throughout the body as the liposomal material is metabolized by the cells requiring repair;
- accomplish this without binders, fillers, gelatins, capsule materials, dyes, sweeteners, or flavorings common with tablet and capsule supplements; and
- do not cause any unwanted digestive symptoms that other forms of Vitamin C may create.
On the other hand, the traditional form of Vitamin C - tablet or capsule - is subject to a host of factors which can oxidize it, neutralize it, adulterate it, and even expel it before it ever gets to the cells that need it.
